Will try and get more relevant debug information for this. i removed 'quiet' from the kernel parameters and added 'debug earlyprintk=efi' and the attached screenshot is the result kernel does not boot.
The behavior is that 3.15.1 will boot to the grub boot menu, "Linux lts" is selected.
i am not able to boot either alpine-standard-3.15.1-aarch64 nor the -virt variant of that release. I am able to successfully boot and install alpine-standard-3.15.0-aarch64.iso. I am using hypervisor utm 3.0.4 which is using qemu 6.2 running on MacOS monterey.
